The methodology of the investigation

All graphics and figures come from the study "Income index for skilled trades". For its part, "Weissmaler" cites the comparison portals gehaltsvergleich.com, gehalt.de and nettolohn.de as the source.

Monthly wage:

The monthly wage indicates the gross wage in euros for one month of work. The gross monthly wage was collected from the data sets of job exchanges and salary comparison sites. The monthly wage is based on a 40-hour week.

Hourly wages:

The hourly wage indicates the gross wage in euros for one hour of work. To calculate the gross hourly wage, the monthly gross wage was divided by the monthly working time of 160 hours.

Salaries that occupy an extreme position at the upper end of the salary distribution can be attributed to a partially uneven distribution of the age groups in the analyzed data sets.
