How do I cook dried black beans

50 g
Black organic beans
Feijão Preto Organically grown black beans
500 ml ml of water

Preparation of black beans

  1. Rinse black beans with cold water to remove any remaining dirt.

  2. Soak in plenty of water for about 12 hours, as this shortens the cooking time and the beans cook more quickly.

  3. Discard the water in which the black beans were soaked.

  4. Put the black beans in a saucepan.

  5. Add water.

  6. Set the stove to the highest heat setting and bring the black beans to the boil.

  7. As soon as the water boils, turn the stove to the lowest heat setting and let the black beans simmer with plenty of water for about 60 - 90 minutes with the lid closed.

  8. Check the consistency in between.

  9. Only add salt after cooking.
