What are your worst cooking experiences
Styrian ticket Secure a cooking course with Mike Johann, the three-toque chef from Bruck
As part of our "Styria, I am happy to be there" campaign, we would like to highlight the most beautiful corners of our Styria over the course of the summer. Matching this, exclusive Styrian tickets are raffling off all summer long!
From the wine route to the Schöckl to the green lake - there are unique places to explore in Styria. This year is a good time to (re) discover the most beautiful routes and destinations in your own federal state. And we would like to support you in this!
From now on we are raffling off an exclusive Styrian ticket for our readers on a regular basis. Behind it are adventure, glimpses behind the scenes and unique tours through the green heart of Austria. The WOCHE Steirertickets are intended to show how diverse Styria is and at the same time make you want to go on a journey of discovery on your own doorstep!
Experience Styrian pleasure for yourself
This week we are raffling off a Styrian ticket for real gourmets: Two of our readers are lucky enough to attend a private cooking course with the three toque chef Mike Johann. Together with his wife Emilia, Mike runs Johann Johanns Living - a boutique hotel right on the Mur in the heart of Upper Styria. Nothing to be desired in the gourmet restaurant:
Mike & Emilia Johann can entertain a maximum of 14 connoisseurs at once in their atmospheric 3 toque restaurant with just four tables and a few seats in the cooking studio. His compositions pay respect to the Austrian regional cuisine, but are often interpreted in a very free and surprising way, such as preparations such as “mushroom cubes, fermented Krause glucke, potato crumbs and roe coke”; "Huchen, spruce, cucumber, borage"; "Deer heart, violet cauliflower ice cream, green horseradish" suggests. Every guest can put together their desired menu in four, five, six or up to 10 courses from the menu components. This is accompanied by the impressive wine list with around 600 items, which includes one of the largest Romanée-Conti collections in Austria as well as fine vintage wines from Bordeaux and the best winemakers in the Wachau.
If you want to act like a professional chef yourself, you can attend one of Mike Johann's inspirational cooking courses, which he regularly offers on Saturdays. It is worth it! If you want to savor Mike Johann's kitchen a little longer or spend a weekend in beautiful Bruck an der Mur, we recommend the two beautiful, large suites directly above the restaurant. Each has a bedroom, bath / toilet and a spacious, originally furnished living / dining room with designer kitchen. The landlord's penchant for atmospheric lighting and unusual lamps brings special pep into the non-everyday feel-good interior in JOHANNS Living. And if you haven't had enough of JOHANNS - you can bring them home for a private cooking session - you can travel all over Austria!
